Pectus Carinatum
When the bone found in the middle front of the chest is bulging outward, it is a congenital disorder. This disorder also known between crowds as “pigeon chest” can be mild where the shape of the ribcage is out of order and unnoticed or it can be very serious. It is usually noticed after puberty. Pectus Excavatum can be noticed as a child. Patients with Pectus Carinatum usually don’t have any complaints but some patients may have asthma or respitory problems. Patients who have distinct esthetic problems can be operated for (physical) correction.
