Reparation of Organ Ruptures with Microsurgery
Ruptures of the finger, hand, arm, or other organs can occur due to different reasons. If the severed piece has a vascular structure that can be sown with microsurgery, it is preceded under a big microscope and sown back together with thin stitches. Nerve repair is done with the microsurgery technique. The nerve heals approximately 1 mm in length per day. Even if the nerve fibers come until the cut area, the healing is recognized after 3 months. Nerve healing takes a long period of time such as 6-7 years. The piece that has detached is placed into a clean plastic nylon bag even if it looks useless. There should be another bag filled with ice inside this bag and the patient and the detached piece should be brought to a clinic that performs microsurgery treatment. The doctor will proceed with the treatment depending on if the detached piece is useable or not.
