Orbital Fractures

Our sensitive area is kept from external effects by being surrounded with bone structure. Fractures around the eye can cause injury to the eye also. Evaluation has to be done carefully to see if there is any damage on the eye. Fractures can be formed around the eye according to the direction and strength of the trauma. Base of the eye can be broken with the shock hitting the eye directly with the pressure toward inside of the maxillar sinus of the eyeball. The bones around are strong in these kinds of fractures. Double vision and narrowing in vision area can be caused in orbital fractures by effecting the eye movements. It can cause permanent vision disorder and facial form disorder if it is not treated. Early intervention is necessary.

Treatment: Fractured bones changing place are detected with titanium micro-plaque and screws after they are corrected. Bones are supported with thin titanium plaques if the completeness of the eye base is deteriorated. Open wound scar is not visible at the areas opened by the plastic surgeon to treat the fractured bones if open injury area is not observed.
