Face Rejuvenation with Botox

Face Rejuvenation with Botox

Botox is not snake poison. Botox is the medicine formed from the microbe known as Clostridium Botulinum. This microbe’s poison has been known since the 1800’s until today. This medicine that causes muscle paralysis was first used in the year 1982 in the treatment of cross-eye and muscle spasms. It started to be used in 1989 under the approval of the FDA in America. Botulinum Toxin Tip A was first cosmetically used in 1990 according to a report from Canadian Vancouver British Colombia University. At the end of the 1990’s, cosmetically used Botulinum Toxin increased greatly around the whole world. I have been performing esthetical Botox for nearly 10 years. The toxin Botulinum prevents the influence of the muscle to nerve warning. The toxins effect begins on the 3rd day and takes full effect status in 10 days. Even if it shows differences among people, the effect continues up to approximately 6-8 months. In sweating treatment, it can be effective between 9-12 months. Dosage of 4 boxes can be performed on one person. One box of Botox is 100 units, which means it can be used until 400 units for treatment purposes. Dosage for treatment of wrinkles on the face and neck areas changes depending on the thickness and strength of the muscle. The eye area and lips are the most sensitive parts. If it is not done in the proper place and dose, and if the area is massaged, the medicines unwanted muscle affect, dropping of the eyelid, cross-eyed, seeing double, voice hoarseness, and asymmetry in the lip can be seen. Muscle form and the needed dose lessen these risks a lot. If unwanted defects occur, it will get better in time within months.

Who Botox cannot be performed on:

Botox cannot be performed on people with myesthesia gravis, muscle diseases such as Lambert-Eaton, nerve diseases such as Guillian Barre, people with allergies to human albumin, people who use antibiotics such as aminoglycoside, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Botox can be performed on every person who has gone through puberty. Permanently seen wrinkles and veins on the face can be opened with Botox leading to a younger looking face. If there is structural and significant wrinkles on the face, Botox treatment at younger ages can lead to good results. Botox is not a harmful medicine and doesn’t cause accumulation.

How is Botox applied?

With the request of the patient and the doctor’s evaluation, the regions where Botox will be applied is specified and numbing cream is applied to the area. The numbing cream effects thin skin parts like the side of the eyes faster compared to thick skin areas. Wait time is approximately 15-30 minutes for the cream to have its affect. Botox is carried and hid in small bottles with cold chain instructions. It is in the bottle as powder form and prepared by adding sterile water. The amount wanted is injected in the muscle with very thin needles. During the procedure, light bruising and swelling may be seen if it is run across small vessels. Preventing this includes local ice application and creams to decrease swelling.

When does the Botox effect emerge?

In the first few days, light fullness is felt. The effect starts to be seen after the 3rd day and completes after 7-10 days. The person cannot move the muscles that initiated the wrinkles. Significant wrinkles are not seen when the mimics are used and a younger looking skin is noticed. Muscle movements begin after 4-5 months and similar muscle movements such as before the procedure can be seen in 6-8 months.
