Upper Eyelid Esthetic
The construction of the upper eyelid folding may be found low even in younger ages, which could lead to an esthetic operation. In these types of eyelids, the area, which is folded, is practiced more rather than the removal of extra skin. Due to the extra skin on the eyelids being removed from where the eyelids fold, does not create a mark. In the first months, redness type scars may be seen near the outer eyelids but after a while this turns into a thin line that isn’t noticed. Fullness and bulging may be seen mostly on the inner parts and sometimes at middle parts of the upper eyelids due to fatty tissue herniation. Natural upper eyelids are formed by the removal of the fatty tissues due to herniation at the same incision area.
Upper eyelid esthetics can be easily performed after a tranquilizer is given and under local anesthesia. Operation duration is nearly 1 hour. The patient can be discharged the same day of the operation after a dressing with gauze bandage is performed. Between times, application of ice can be rewarding. After 3 days, the stitches around the upper lid are removed and on the 5th day all of the remaining stitches are removed. Bruises and possible edema that may form will heal after 1-2 weeks. After 3 months, the eyelid will mold into its normal structure.
